Mervat's "One Jacket Five Ways Challenge:" Oops, I just found another one.

When I introduced this jacket, I explained that for a while after I bought it, I had a hard time finding ways to wear it that don't involve pink, because I felt obligated to match the subtle pink stripes in the jacket's plaid (the pink in person is pinker than it shows up in any of these online photos... I still haven't been able to overcome the way my camera dulls color). So I chose to use it for this challenge specifically because I thought it would be tricky to find five different ways to wear it. Yet now, I have come the think of it as almost a neutral. Which is a bit disappointing because I was supposed to use a jacket that is not a neutral. But that's one of the great things about participating in challenges or contests such as Mervat's, Jane's, Audi's, and Kasmira's: I get to be challenged, and I learn to see parts of my wardrobe through fresh eyes. Before, this jacket felt very limiting; now, it feels almost limitless.

So, yeah. I found enough ways to wear the jacket for this contest that I lost track of them all, and just realized I had these photos still sitting in my "to be posted" folder from before we went to Canada. I was trying to make the pink stripes pop more by accessorizing with pink, but the jewelry alone wasn't enough to really bring it out (and in the photos, you can barely even see the pink in the jewelry. I should have added a pink headband.

  4. I'd like to join the fan-club for this look. I'm not quite sure why I like it so much, I think maybe it's the longer contrasting top underneath, with your jeans. It's a great look on you!
