cute, but not clothes

My posting has really lagged this summer. Not because I haven't had many a photo-worthy outfit, but because my summer schedule is erratic, and taking the time to take photos and post them just hasn't been a priority. Which is fine with me.

But here's something that was a priority. I already shared this on Wardrobe Refashion, so if you follow WR, you may have seen it there already. A friend of mine recently had a baby. This is what I made for them.

Heh, bonus points for anyone who can figure out what audiobook I was listening to while filming! I'll give you a hint: food culture and sustainability.

In case the video doesn't work, here are photos:

I borrowed (ahem... stole) many aspects of the design from this project, but that one is made of paper and hobby wood, whereas mine is made of fabric "pillows." This is the first baby gift I have ever made. It took so friggin' long, but I LOVE it. Of course I want one for myself now. My uterus is whining impatiently: "Whaddya' mean, you're still waiting a couple more years to take away the goalie? I want cuteness now!"

  1. How cute!
I actually find kids' stuff way more adorable than the kids themselves, but that's just me :)
You did a wonderful job here.

  2. That is so lovely - I remember that newborns can't see colours so black and white is perfect. How thoughtful!

  6. I use to work for a large corporation that sold baby products to big box retailers and this is REALLY good.

I love how you did black & white!
