This felt very classic, very "American girl." Not in a patriotic, stars-and-stripes, way. More like comfy, casual, "Let's go watch a baseball game and drink beer." Too bad that's not what I was doing on this day. I haven't been to a game in years. Not that it was a bad day. Just that I'd always rather watch baseball and drink beer than go to work. And I'm not even that into baseball.

Mervat, I hadn't thought of it in terms of proportion, but now that I look at it that way, I agree. I think that's one reason I felt so good in it. I think I'll be repeating this outfit and variations of it quite a bit.

ReplyDeleteHi, Sallymandy. That's so funny - someone else asked me that exact same question recently, so I'll just quote myself: "I ordered my ball chain from ballchain.com some time ago. I ordered a whole 100-ft spool, which will probably last me the rest of my life, but I think you can also order pre-cut lengths. I find that weights #3 or #6 are good for weighting-down hems."
