Bzzz...

I WANT THESE SHOES.

They are so completely insensible.

I SUCK at heels.

And I would probably wear them once or twice per year, at most.

Still, it's taking... all... willpower...

  1. Christopher Columbus, they're outrageous. But waspishly-well priced!

  2. But Halloween is coming up, surely you could create a fabulous costume around them!

  3. Oh, soo cool. Speaking of shoes, thanks so much for agreeing to do a post on your outrageously great boots you refashioned. I apologize for taking so long to get back over here and see what you said.

I don't really know how to do a guest post except you could send me an email with text, and attach some photos? What do you think? My email address is on my blog. (You don't have to publish this comment.)

    Thanks Steph!

  4. Those shoes would certainly got you noticed. I can see you wearing them in front of the counter on your daily posts!

  5. Wow.

There are some shoes I look at and think, Ah, if only I stumbled over those at the thrift shop, I think I could justify the outrageousness factor/won't be worn that often reality. I can see having tons of fun with these ... about once or twice a year, as you say.

Hm. Unless you want to challenge yourself to wear them for an entire week straight? Or am I the only one who think that would be a fun challenge?

  7. Thanks for your advice about the bumblebee shoes, everyone. Jessica, I agree, that would be a fun challenge!

Well, here's the update: I went ahead and ordered them in order to try them out. With Zappos' generous shipping and return policies, I figure it's okay to risk it. They are just as cute in person as in the pictures. As far as comfort, they're actually not bad. The heel height rise is really only about two inches because another 1.5" of height comes from the platform. They rub in a few spots, but nothing unusual that couldn't be solved with the application of some moleskin here and there.

I'm still flip-flopping about whether or not to keep them. Audi's recent posts about Buyer's Remorse (http://geekthreads.blogspot.com/2009/07/buyers-remorse-part-ii.html) made me think I should return them, but then an upstairs friend/neighbor's in-person enthusiasm made me think I should keep them. I still have to think about it for a bit, but I'm glad that either way, I think it'll be a sound decision.

  8. Wow, I'd have to say go for it! It'd be a buy like my leopard print faux fur coat. It was an outrageous buy, but completely worth it for those times I was able to wear it.
