Here's what I threw together last night and amused my students with today:

I mainly used the second picture for inspiration. My colors turned out a bit more Easter eggy than the interior's. I think I'm going to have to do better than this if I want to win, but it feels like a solid warm-up. These are definitely items I would never have thought to wear all together, so it feels very successful in that regard. My black sh_t-kicker boots feel a bit clunky with the rest of the outift, but also rather amusing: "Look at me! I'm going out gardening on Easter!"Dress: Chadwicks, overstock at Jomar.
Belt: made by me, inspired by one of Kasmira's.
Tunic top: Travelsmith.
Slip with ruffly hem: vintage, found at thrift store years ago.
Tights: Afaze.
Boots: Dansko.
Necklace and earrings: street vendor in Argentina.

This is really lovely and the colours suit you beautifully. I think you are in with a great chance! My outfit using Audi's insiration idea isn't anywhere near as inventive.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! I love the colors together and the slip peeking out at the hem is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Mervat. I'm flattered. I wasn't sure about the colors on me. I want to see your inspired outfit!
ReplyDeleteAudi, you know I totally borrowed the peeking hem/slip idea from you, right? I've had this slip since I was in high school (and now I'm 30), and have never worn it peeking out before!
I love the soft color of your dress!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nadine!
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteNice to see your new blog. I like how your boots "match" your hair in this outfit...well, they balance each other out. Thanks for coming to my blog today and the nice comments. I'll come and visit again.
Huh. I hadn't thought of that, sallymandy. Now I see it. Sometimes I forget that my head is part of the ensemble. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteNot crazy about the shirt underneath but other than that it's cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks, mom. Nice to have you visiting!
